These Unreal Canadian Spirits Are Now Available Throughout Alberta

Via Spiritueux IbervilleVia Les Subversifs

Looking to spice up your liquor cabinet but don’t know where to start? We got you! Les Subversifs and Spiritueux-Iberville are two Quebec distilleries that are now available in Alberta, and they each have a pretty great story. From celebrating the trailblazers to showing love to the idea of kickin’ back and enjoying some late afternoon aperitivos, these brands have managed to separate themselves from the crowd!

So, let’s get to it!

Les Subversifs

Spiritueux Iberville

A balance of old and new, Les Subversifs offers a wide range of handcrafted spirits that put a fresh taste on classics, and use locally foraged ingredients and botanicals. Their name means “to be different”, and that’s exactly what they aim to do (and celebrate!). Each bottle highlights great historical figures with smaller spotlights in history. So, not only can you grab a bottle of your fav spirits, you can learn a little more about history while you do it. After all, who doesn’t love an underdog!

Spiritueux Iberville

Spiritueux-Iberville is bringing the magic of the aperitivo lifestyle to Canada – and well, they’ve got us sold! The founder and master distiller, Mario D’Amico, focuses on producing Italian style liqueurs inspired by his grandfather who immigrated to Canada from Italy back in 1953. Their aim? Emphasize the beauty of coming together to enjoy drinking great spirits, paired with good food and good company!

Want to try your hand at bartending this weekend? Our friends at Spiritueux-Iberville provided us with a couple delicious drink recipes that will have you thinking you’re sippin’ an aperitivo on the Amalfi coast!

AMERMELADE – Negroni Gentil (« Kind Negroni » )

1 ounce Vermouth Rosso
1 ounce Gin (Subversifs’ Marie-Victorin is a great choice!)
1 ounce Amermelade (replaces the Campari or Amer Amer.)

Fill the glass with ice, add all the ingredients, stir with a spoon to make it cold and smooth. Add a slice of orange to complete!

THÉ ANGÉLIQUE – Arnold Palmer (a twist on a classic)

1.5 ounce Thé Angélique
1 ounce Whisky
Sparkling water / Soda / Tonic

Fill the glass with ice, add the ingredients and cover with any sparkling liquid you have. Top with a slice of lemon!
