Guide: 7 socially-distant activities that will get you into a holiday state of mind
We’re constantly on the hunt to partake in some holiday cheer, maybe even some extra cheer this year. Whether you’re looking for something to do while staying tucked away inside or itching to find an activity that’ll get you out of the house, there are options to fit every mood. Even better? You can enjoy a beer (or two) from Partake Brewing no matter what you choose, because these craft beers are non-alcoholic and the perfect addition to any leisurely activity!
With that in mind, here are 7 activities to help you get into a holiday state of mind.
Luckily we still get to experience the Edmonton Christmas Market this year, in more ways than one! The market is open for a safe shopping experience at the iconic Army + Navy building in Old Strathcona but they have online experiences as well. Running until Sunday, December 20, the Edmonton Christmas market is the perfect place to pick up your gifts and fill your soul with the Christmas spirit.
Get your car pass ahead of time and head over to check out the beautiful light displays at Winter Wonder Forest. Running until Sunday, January 3rd giving you plenty of time to soak in the magic at one of Edmonton’s favourite winter events. The drive-through doesn’t just feature tons of twinkling lights but also ice sculptures, wood carvings, music, and a drive-up meet with the big guy himself, ho ho ho!
We can’t host traditional game nights but we CAN host a virtual one. Check out sites like Lets Roam and challenge your friends across the globe! This sounds like a great way to connect and have some fun with family and friends that you haven’t seen in forever, how cool!
We’re all missing nights out going to dinner and a movie but there is hope! Metro Cinema is offering Metro-calibre programming in the safety of your own home. Grab some take-out from your fav local restaurant and you’ve got yourself movie night once again!
This is a tradition you cannot pass up. Pick-up a gingerbread house kit from your favourite local shop or grocery store and get to work! We think this is a great way to spend an evening even if you don’t have kids. You can even turn this into this fun activity into a friendly competition!
We’re not complaining about the weather lately but it’s bound to change soon and when it does we seriously suggest lacing up your skates and hitting up William Hawrelak Park. Be sure to check the city website for conditions before you go, we know we can’t wait!
Again the weather might not be perfect for snowshoeing yet but that could change suddenly! Once the snow hits we are planning to strap on our snowshoes and hit the trails!
So whether you’re staying in this Winter or getting out for some fresh air, make sure you have a Partake brew in hand. They are in many local stores or you can get them online, so either way, you won’t have to venture far to pick them up. Cheers to the holidays!
