Oilers vs. Kings: Edmonton’s Mayor just challenged his L.A. counterpart to playoff bet

It’s playoff season and the stakes are high – especially if you’re willing to gamble on your favourite team’s success.

This year, like so many others with a jersey and some confidence, Edmonton Mayor and Oilers fan, Amarjeet Sohi has proposed a ‘friendly wager’ to L.A.’s commander and chief, Karen Bass.

“The city is BUZZING with energy!” Sohi wrote before April 17th’s game.

“Let’s say whoever wins the series rocks the other team’s jersey for an upcoming Council meeting – you in?”

Sadly, for those invested, Mayor Bass has yet to respond, but we’re hoping that with a win in their pocket, she’ll feel more inclined!

Despite losing our first game, we think that the Oilers could pull through and there’s no harm in a little friendly fire.

As always, keep an eye out for updates, Edmonton – and don’t forget to cheer on our home team tonight at 8 pm either at home, in a bar OR at the ICE District, where they’ll be holding a series of parties during their home games.
