Get a taste of the Rockies with Edmonton International Airport’s new immersive cabin experience

There’s a new experience awaiting travellers passing through Edmonton International Airport.

Tourism Jasper has just announced an all-new full-scale Jasper cabin experience in partnership with Edmonton International Airport and Knotty Pine Cabins. It’s the perfect, cozy getaway when you’re away from home and in need of warmth.

A cozy cabin retreat

This cabin not only offers a chance to escape to one of Jasper’s iconic cozy cabins, but it also offers an immersive introduction to the rich history and mountain-town charm. Some of the features inside the cabin include a fireplace, rustic wood and leather furnishings, soft lighting, iconic Hudson’s Bay blankets, and historic photographs highlighting Jasper’s story.

“The cabin experience is about offering passengers a place to relax and unwind in a cozy Jasper cabin before they board their plane,” said Tyler Riopel, CEO of Tourism Jasper, in a press release. “We want people to feel the warmth, hospitality, and sense of adventure that define Jasper – even if they’re just passing through the airport.”

This design is a three to five-year activation, with Tourism Jasper refreshing the cabin seasonally. Not only will it be refreshed, but future additions to the cabin will include interactive elements such as QR codes linking to travel inspiration, cabin accommodations, and trip-planning resources.

Not only that, but Tourism Jasper will be hosting a contest to win a Jasper getaway with cabin accommodation, activities, and flights for two. Although the team will be releasing more information on that later.

If you find yourself in the Edmonton International Airport anytime soon, this will definitely be something to check out. I’m flying to Vancouver myself soon, and I can’t wait to check it out!
