The sun is shining, and another long weekend is hot on our heels. Alongside cities from coast to coast, Edmonton will soon celebrate Canada Day, and this year is going to be big.
On July 1, Canada will celebrate another year, and Edmonton has planned a little something for everyone.
From concerts and markets to food and fireworks, those looking to get out and about will be spoiled for choice.
Can’t wait to get things started? Here’s what the City of Champions has planned for 2025.
Love free food? This year, early birds will get the worm — and free pancakes! At 7 a.m., the Alberta Legislature Grounds will host a big breakfast, followed by the Canada Day Road Race, a citizenship ceremony, fun in the family zone, and live performances!

The Works Festival will be in town, and as luck would have it, July 1 will be the last day you can check it out. While in the inner city, stop by to see some incredible art by local and national artists.

Another year, another colourful fireworks display. This year, check out Queen Elizabeth Park and Hill, River Valley Road Trail, Victoria Park, or Ezio Faraone Park for an incredible view of the show, which is set to take the sky at 11 p.m.
