East Village is throwing a major Block Party this weekend & here’s what to know

Scratch your weekend plans ‘cause we’ve got better ones for ya! East Village— inarguably among the most happening hoods in town— is having a major celebration. They are calling it the Block By Block Party. And we have all the deets!

Hosted by Calgary’s own drag queen, Birthday Girl, the party is a winter celebration of the glow-up of the many places, spaces and faces of East Village over the years.

The party has all the markings of a smash hit. Think entertainment, food, drinks and a hell of a lot of fun for all ages.

You can break out a few good moves to the electric beats of DJ Joe Swell. Or tap to the tunes of RnB artist Nadi Downs Duo and The Frontiers, who will be performing live. Or enjoy the fun and dramatic traditional lion dance performance by the Jing Wo Cultural Association of Canada.

For the artists among us, there’s also immersive art to curb your creative craving. The event will see artist Nicole Wolf illustrating live portraits of attendees.

And talking of cravings, you’ll spot Neon Tacos and Family Cheesed of YYC Food Trucks at the party too. And of course, beer galore at the beer garden which is courtesy of Cold Garden.

There might be a chill in the air, but nothing some time by the fire, local food in your tum, & a crisp brew in your hand can’t fix! So, this Saturday, round up the whole crew and head to East Village for the Block by Block Party.
