This small Ontario town is nestled in a valley surrounded by waterfalls

Autumn’s beauty is best enjoyed here. Also known as the “valley town,” Dundas, Ontario is a beautiful spot nestled in a lush landscape at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment.

Located around an hour from Toronto in the scenic Dundas Valley, this town and surrounding area are totally worth a day trip.

The historic downtown is lined with adorable shops, restaurants, and cafes, with the rolling hills of the valley just beyond it.

In the fall, the area becomes twice as picturesque as the leaves transform to shades of red, orange, and gold.

This town is a mini paradise for foodies. It’s home to some great spots for a delicious bite, including the popular Detour Cafe, Betula, Old Bagel House, Bouchee Cupcake Cafe, French Revolution Bakery, the award-winning Bangkok Spoon, and the delicious India Village.

And of course, it’s a nature lover’s dream. There are a plethora of waterfalls to explore, including Webster’s Falls and Tew Falls in the Spencer Gorge Conservation Area.

Also nearby are Canterbury Falls, Sherman Falls, Lower Little Falls, and Tiffany Falls in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area, which is described as “one of southern Ontario’s most spectacular natural treasures.”

The 1,200-hectare conservation area is comprised of forests, meadows, streams, wildlife, waterfalls, and ancient geological formations.

The 40 km recreational trail system runs through the towns of Ancaster and Dundas.

There are three main trails you can tackle — the Main Loop Trail, Bruce Trail, and the Hamilton to Brantford Rail Trail.

You can’t go home without picking up some goodies from Dyments Farm, Market & Bakery, which is right in the heart of the Dundas Valley area.

Now that we’ve convinced you to pay this spot a visit, it’s time to wait for the autumn leaves to appear for those truly magical views.
