Defrost in downtown Edmonton at the city’s biggest spring dance party

Edmonton’s biggest spring dance party is coming up sooner than you think.

Downtown Defrost is an established music festival in Edmonton, coming up on its 11th year running. After winter comes the defrost, and that’s what this festival is here for. Providing big artist names and packing visuals, art, and world-class music, this is a must-visit.

For two days, spanning April 3 and 4, the downtown core will transform into the ultimate outdoor music landscape.

What to expect

Last year, Downtown Defrost had names like Yaeji and Channel Tres. This year, the lineup includes Moontricks, The Funk Hunters, PARTIBOI69, and Nikki Nair as some of the names performing in the 11th season of the festival.

There will be two stages at this downtown location, as the festival is taking over Churchill Square. On top of two stages, you can expect pop-up markets, food trucks, a family area, interactive art installations, and open space and seating for all.

In Churchill Square, family-friendly vibes will be all the rage. You can find after-party energy for those 18 and above at Double Dragon to create an immersive festival experience, all weekend long.

For those 18 and over, there will be a bar stocked with drinks galore at the festival. So, don’t worry about dry festival grounds, because there’s enough to go around.

Tickets are on sale now. You can purchase for individual days, beginning at $70.94, while weekend passes are $139.61. We’d suggest getting your tickets soon, as the tickets are already over 50 per cent sold out.

If you’re looking for something big in the city, this is it. When you step into Churchill Square, the energy will be absolutely astounding; you won’t want to miss it.

Get ready to defrost, folks.
