Michelin-recognized Taiwanese restaurant to open its first Canadian location in Vancouver

If you love dim sum and Taiwanese fare, we’ve got some exciting news for you. The world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung is officially coming to Canada, and its first restaurant is set to launch in Vancouver next year.

Located at Carmana Hotel & Suites by Peterson Group, the Michelin-recognized restaurant will open to the public in late 2024, inviting foodies to indulge in the same quality menu enjoyed across 14 countries around the globe.

“We are thrilled to announce Din Tai Fung’s expansion into Canada with our first location in Vancouver, at Caramana Hotel & Suites,” says Aaron Yang, Vice President of Din Tai Fung Restaurant Group. “Vancouver’s rich multicultural fabric, food-loving residents, and its embrace of various cuisines make it an ideal destination for Din Tai Fung.”

In addition to its ‘upscale yet inviting’ cultural dining experience, guests can expect to see the restaurant’s staple Xiao Long Bao, which translates to “little dumpling in a basket.” Each dumpling is made via a detailed 18-fold process, ensuring the perfect ratio of rich, savoury filling and delicate dumpling skin.

As well, patrons can look forward to indulging in fan-favourite items like the Spicy Wontons, which includes the restaurant’s signature spicy sauce and cucumber salad.

It might be a while before you can get your hands on their tasty dumplings, but we’re sure the wait will be well worth it.

So there you have it, Vancouver! Stay tuned for all the delicious details to come, including more info on restaurant offerings, and an official opening date.
