This free South Asian festival in Toronto is the first of its kind Canada

Canada’s number one South Asian Music Festival is back in Toronto this June and it’ll take over this popular tourist destination for one day only. Here’s what to know about DESIFEST.

Mark your calendars for June 8th as DESIFEST, Canada’s leading South Asian music festival, is returning for its 18th annual showcase at Yonge-Dundas Square.

This year’s event promises to be exceptional, featuring an all-Canadian lineup for the first time ever.

“We’ve invested heavily in community-driven initiatives such as artist development programs, open mic nights, and micro-shows, all designed to elevate and empower South Asian singers, songwriters, musicians, and DJs from across Canada,” shares organizers.

“These efforts have not only supported the artistic growth of individual performers but have also fostered a vibrant and thriving music community. As a result, we’re proud to showcase the culmination of this hard work at this year’s festival.”

Attendees can look forward to an energetic day full of rich cultural diversity, celebrating the very best of Canada’s South Asian music scene and of course, food.

Expect 15 different vendors to cook up the best eats while you enjoy 12 hours of Bollywood, HipHop, Punjabi, Tamil, Bangla and more.

Presented by TD, DESIFEST will transform Yonge-Dundas Square into a hub of music, culture, and community spirit.

You don’t want to miss out on the chance to experience the vibrant beats, soulful melodies, and captivating performances that make DESIFEST an unmissable celebration of South Asian talent in Canada.
