Deerfoot City has opened one of the most unique outdoor skating rinks in the city

Deerfoot City has once again totally outdone themselves. Do you remember the rad block party they threw in the summer? Well, they’ve amped up their game for the holidays and turned the 100-foot boulevard into a synthetic skating rink with thousands of sparkling lights. By appointment only (obviously) you can make a day and night out of visiting Calgary’s coolest mall.

We don’t think there is anywhere else that you can shop, skate, eat, drink, and be merry. And the best part is you can do this all winter long because this is not a Christmas thing- it’s a winter thing and it runs until at least February. Is there anything more special than skating in the great white north with your loved ones under twinkling lights? The answer is nope!

Along the boulevard, Deerfoot City has set-up a beautiful star archway as their feature light display but the lit-up skating rink is just the start of all that’s going on here this season. Who else could use a little retail therapy right now? Honestly, you can pick up a couch, a cute sweater, and a loaf of bread all in one place with H&M, Old Navy, Ardene, and more now open.

Have you seen all the new restos opening up here lately? It’s a foodies paradise. Fill your belly and your heart on the patios decorated in string lights and all cozy with heat lamps. We’re thinking a hot chocolate from ReGrub is in order for sure.

Even after skating shopping and stuffing our faces with all the goodies, there is still fun to be had. Who has ever skated and skydived on the same day? For real though, make sure your phone is charged up because you’re going to be getting some seriously Instagram-worthy shots of pretty much everything Deerfoot City is serving up for the holidays.
