While it’s a few years out from being complete, the last tower coming to the city’s most exciting development announced an anchor tenant today! And fittingly, the ICE District will be the new home of CWB Financial Group, which got its start in the city almost four decades ago.

As the largest sports and mixed-use development in Canada, the ICE District is home to hotels, dining options, a residential tower, and of course, Rogers Place. Centred around the ICE Plaza, the development is hoping to transform what residents see when they think of the ‘live, work and play’ lifestyle.

While live and play has mostly been covered, CWB is going to be a huge boon on the ‘work’ side of things. With over 2,500 employees nationwide, and achieving $1B in revenue for 2021, the bank has become synonymous with helping small and medium-sized businesses get off the ground (and stay in the air) ever since it was founded back in 1988.

And, this latest move is a sign that it’s doing anything but stagnated. The new national HQ for CWB will be coming to the western side of the development, and will overlook the ICE Plaza, offering employees options for dinners out, concerts to attend, and of course, Oilers games.
With construction already underway, now you have an answer if your friends ask just who’s going to be moving in!
