The City of Vancouver is hiring right now and many jobs pay over $35 an hour

Attention, job seekers! The City of Vancouver is currently hiring for over 35 open jobs across its departments, and one might just have your name on it. So if you’re looking to take the next step in your career or pursue something new, it’s time to dust off your resume and see what’s out there!

Before you hit “apply,” let’s dive into the departments with the most open roles right now.

Technology

According to the department page, Technology employees work towards improving digital infrastructure in the city and Vancouver’s digital economy. This includes jobs at the city’s IT organization, digital services, and 3-1-1 Contact Centre.

Open roles right now include Web/Applications Specialist II (UX Strategist) ($47.62 to $56.27), Project Manager II (Technology Services) ($111,139 to $138,924 per year), SAP HR/Payroll Systems Analyst ($92,864 to $116,070 per year), and Manager, Customer Experience ($121,960 to $160,467 per year)

Engineering Services

The City’s Engineering Services division has a ton of open positions right now, ranging from Engineer-In-Training ($75,410 to $94,253 per year) to Survey Technician ($38.75 to $45.62 per hour), to Civil Engineer I (Commercial Parking) ($97,302 to $121,294 per year).

According to the City, its Engineering Services department is responsible for “infrastructure essential to the quality of life for residents and businesses,” which includes everything from sewage and drainage to public spaces, transportation, and water distribution.

Other divisions hiring

Finally, there are a handful of admin jobs and open positions in the Planning, Development, and Sustainability and Parks and Recreation departments.
