This Ontario city has the biggest average house size of almost anywhere in the world

Everyone loves to get more for their money when it comes to real estate, and in one Canadian city, that’s exactly what you get. That’s because it’s among the top five cities with the largest average house sizes in the world.

The UK-based insurance agency CIA Landlords and Insurance has released an analysis of average house sizes in big cities around the world.

While the majority of the report compares house sizes in cities around the UK, the report also lists the top cities with the largest average house sizes in the world.

Coming in 4th place out of 23 cities is Ottawa, with an average home size of 1,948 square feet.

According to current MLS stats shared by Zolo, the average house price in Ottawa is currently $780,000.

That means the current price per square foot for the average Ottawa home is just over $400.

CIA Landlords and Insurance says that according to their research, “there is no one-size-fits-all definition of an ‘average-sized house’ in the UK or internationally” because property sizes vary greatly by region.

Ottawa also received global recognition recently for its work-life balance.

In a report issued last year, the city landed in 7th place out of 100 cities for having an excellent culture when it comes to work-life balance, with an overall score of 95.51.

If all of this tells us anything, it’s that Canada’s capital is an underrated gem!
