The beloved Christmas Streetcar is lighting up the streets of Edmonton for the holidays

Edmonton streetcars are running this season, spreading their annual Christmas cheer!

The extremely popular holiday streetcar ride is back for 2025. Get ready for a scenic 45-minute trip around Edmonton, where you’ll get perfect views of the River Valley, Downtown and the Legislature in this premium experience.

Although the snow is running late, the car is right on schedule for the trip of the season!

What to expect

This opportunity will take guests on a 45-minute roundtrip ride on a seasonally decorated streetcar, travelling from its Strathcona stop (behind the Old Strathcona Farmers Market) across the High Level Bridge to Government Centre Plaza, and then returning to Old Strathcona.

During this trip, the motormen will provide historical talks about Edmonton and the car, as well as provide holiday cheer.

All of these services are in Edmonton 33, an original car from 1912. Being 113 years old, this car is not barrier-free, nor does it have modern heat. The Railway Society says be ready to climb steps to get on and off the car, as well as dress appropriately for the weather.

Due to limited capacity, all tickets are $10 per person regardless of age (and infants on laps are free).

You can check availability for these charters on the Edmonton Streetcars website. Tickets will be available for purchase here and here only, exclusively online.

Tickets are not refundable or transferable, and cannot be resold. The Railway Society would love for customers to ensure they can make it to their ticketed run before buying a ticket. It is recommended to pre-purchase your ticket, as the society will not be accepting walk-ups to prevent overcrowding.
