Enchanting Christmas lights you can check out in Metro Vancouver after the holidays

The holidays are a fun-filled time, but sometimes it feels like all of that magic evaporates from the city as soon as the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve. And before then, lots of holiday markets and festivities that started in early November will wrap up their season. However, there are still a handful of beloved holiday traditions lighting up the city well past Dec. 25, 2025. So with that in mind, here are all the Christmas lights you can check out in Metro Vancouver after the holidays.

Festival of Lights

You’ve still got time to check out VanDusen’s magical Festival of Lights, which turns the garden’s 15 acres into a walking Christmas fantasy. The series of illuminated paths lights the way through themed displays and interactive exhibits, including the new Great Bear Rainforest Exhibit.

What makes this experience truly special are the garden’s Dancing Lights, which come to life every 20 minutes from the top of the hour. This year, visitors can enjoy three festive Dancing Lights sets set to holiday music.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge

Canyon Lights is a quintessential holiday experience in the Vancouver area for a reason. Millions of glowing holiday lights illuminate your way as you explore the iconic suspension bridge and suspended paths, and you have until mid-January to take it all in.

When: Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, to Jan. 18, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: 3735 Capilano Rd., North Vancouver
Cost: $78 per adult

Lights at Lafarge 

Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor winter lights display is in Coquitlam, and it features a 1.6 km lit pathway lined with adorable holiday displays. Running until Feb. 16, 2026, you’ve got plenty of time to check it out, but Christmas Day feels like the ideal time to take it all in.

The City of Coquitlam recommends visiting on weekdays or during off-peak hours, between 6 p.m. and after 8 p.m., for the best viewing experience.

Dundarave Festival of Lights

According to organizers, this year’s Dundarave Festival of Lights is its biggest and brightest yet, and you can visit its illuminated “Forest of Miracles” along West Vancouver’s waterfront until early January 2026.

Cost: Free
