Catch a movie under the stars in this Calgary park for FREE this Friday

Don’t get it twisted, we’ve missed being able to catch a flick at our nearest Cineplex, but movie theatre popcorn is no substitute for fresh air. COVID obviously sucked, but we’d be lying if we didn’t say that we didn’t learn a few things. First, people do not wash their hands nearly enough and second, oldies are best enjoyed underneath a blanket of stars! For this reason, we cannot wait for the one-night-only return of Movie on the Rise event at St. Patrick’s Island.

This Friday, August 20th, round up the squad, pack a few snacks and settle in for a showing of Jumanji: The Next Level – which coincidentally was filmed here in Alberta.

For those of you who didn’t get a chance to attend one of their previous events, you are in for a treat!

Located at The Rise, a 9-metre natural amphitheatre on St.Patrick’s Island, Calgarians are encouraged to cozy up for a FREE family-favourite shown after dark.

Though it is a bit tough to get a seat if your half passed super early, it’s totally worth checking out – especially if the weather cooperates!

If you’re interested (and we know that you are), this Friday’s event kicks off at 9 pm and has a run time of 123 minutes, so you won’t want to miss it!

We hope to see all of you out there, Calgary! It’s going to be a wild evening.
