Here’s when the epic new Canada’s Wonderland coaster opens

Thrill seekers, the time has come. Canada’s Wonderland has not only released when it will be opening for the season but has also shared an update on its new record-breaking roller coaster, AlpenFury.

Canada’s Wonderland will open on May 8, 2025, while AlpenFury “is anticipated to open late spring and will feature a double-launch, with one propelling riders into Wonder Mountain, and another that blasts the train out the summit, 50 metres into the sky.”

The coaster will span 1,000 metres across the park and will be able to reach speeds of 115 km per hour, flipping through nine inversions – the most of any launch coaster in the world.

As for the park’s Splash Works area, visitors can mark their calendars for its separate opening weekend: May 24 to 25.

“We’re excited to welcome guests back through the gate and usher in another season of thrills and family fun,” says Phil Liggett, general manager. “AlpenFury will be a great addition to our coaster lineup, providing a unique thrill experience you won’t find anywhere else. Our team is committed to ensuring guests have a great visit, and we’re here to help them create memories that last a lifetime.”

Other notable dates for the season include:

  • Long Weekend Fireworks (May 18, June 30, Aug. 3, Aug. 31)
  • Food & Wine Festival (June 6 to 22)
  • Celebration Canada (June 27 to July 13, select days)

  • Halloween Haunt (Sept. 26 to Nov. 1, select nights)
