Another long weekend is just around the corner and like so many before it, there will be plenty to do and see in and around Alberta’s capital city!

From coast to coast and right here in Edmonton, Canada Day will be a time to reflect, learn and celebrate, but what will you do on July 1st?

This year, those who would like to get out and about are encouraged to visit the ICE District for a day of fun, RE/MAX Field for a baseball game and family-friendly entertainment, or the Alberta Legislature Grounds for food trucks, ceremonial events, and live music.

The Muttart Conservatory, Mill Woods Park, Edmonton Valley Zoo, and Prince of Wales Armouries will also have special programming before the grand finale!

At 11 pm, point your peepers to the sky for a magnificent fireworks display over Edmonton’s River Valley parks and the North Saskatchewan River.

According to the city’s website, Queen Elizabeth Park and Hill, River Valley Road Trail, Victoria Park, and Ezio Faraone Park (west entrance to High-Level Bridge on 109 Street North), will be the best places to do so – so plan ahead and enjoy.

Can’t get to the inner city in time? The fireworks will also be live-streamed on CBC Edmonton for those who want or need to watch remotely.

Either way, you’re truly in for a treat.

It’s going to be a blast!
