Spring is a mere week away, which means camping season is also upon us. And since BC is home to some of the most beautiful provincial parks in the country, now is a great time to start looking into campsites and dates.
With hundreds of parks and campsites to choose from, it can be difficult to narrow down the best options, especially when spots are filling up so quickly. And at BC’s most popular camping destinations, available spots are even more scarce – so time is of the essence.
And if you’re looking for some great alternatives to these spots that are no less beautiful and worthwhile, additional campgrounds were added to this year’s reservation service, including Gwillim Lake Park near Chetwynd, Yahk Park near the Kingsgate border crossing and Allison Lake Park near Princeton.
The following campgrounds will maintain a 50/50 split of reservable and first-come-first-served spots:
You can use the official BC Parks Map to locate campsites near you and check for availability.

When it comes to booking, keep in mind that BC Parks now has a four-month rolling booking window for front and backcountry reservations. This means that campers can reserve their spots four months in advance instead of two.
And that’s a wrap on some beautiful BC campsites for now. Remember to camp responsibly and leave your campsite as you found it, respecting the local wildlife and fellow campers during your stay.
