Calgary’s longest-running street festival, Marda Loop Marda Gras returns this August

You deserve to let loose, YYC, just not too loose, because this is a family-friendly event. This summer, celebrate the sunny season with local vendors and delicious carnival food at the 2021 Marda Loop Marda Gras, Calgary’s longest-running street festival!

Now, despite things looking a little different this year, this annual festival is still sure to be a ton of fun for all ages.

As it has in years past, the 2021 YYC Marda Gras will still feature a ton of vendors and booths selling and displaying everything from art, clothing, jewellery and food.

Costumes and decorations will also still be encouraged, however – there will be no big performances or an interactive kids area this time around.

Instead, the organizers have started taking applications for independent buskers and caricaturists, so there will be live music and mementos to be made.

If you’re interested in checking it out when it hits the streets this August, cross Sunday the 8th off of your calendar!

Marda Loop Marda Gras is totally free to attend, wander and enjoy so we’ll see you guys out there!

When: Sunday, August 8th, 2021
Where: 33rd Avenue SW between 19th and 22nd Street
