Things To Do

8 things to do this week in Calgary (January 6-10)

Howdy, folks. Another weekend is over, and it was far too short if you ask us! Fortunately, we’ve got tons of fun and exciting things to do this week in Calgary. There’s lights, Will Smith in blue body paint, and even a wiener dog race on ice. If that doesn’t cure your Monday blues, we don’t know what will!

Here are 8 things to do this week in Calgary.

Calgary’s largest, and one of the longest-running, free drive-by light festival is back! See over 500,000 lights all along 14th. It’s tradition, after all!

They say you’re supposed to learn one new thing every day. This Thursday, do it with a drink in your hand! Every second Thursday of the month is Adults Only Night at the Telus Spark Science Centre! Since breaking into the electronic scene in 2014, Champagne Drip has worked with a ton of genre heavyweights, including Billboard making duo Disclosure, which is a pretty big deal. EDM musician Luzcid has worked with wave makers like Bassnectar, and has earned millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube. You can catch both of them in the very same place this weekend. You won’t want to miss it!

When: Friday, January 10th
Where: 840 9 Avenue SW
Time: 9 PM

Catch the Calgary Hitmen as they take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and a bunch of adorable wiener dogs when they take on the ice! It’s all in support of the AARCS Foundation.
