We made it, Calgary! Spring is finally upon us and man, are our bodies ready. We deserve a little bit of heat and let us tell you… This month is on fire. You’re in for 31 days of empowerment, great food, legendary musicians, high times, and ‘all that jazz.’ Check it out! Here are 24 things to do in Calgary this March!

This month, check out the Glenbow Museum’s mysterious new exhibit. Vivian Maier: In Her Own Hands features over 100 photographs found at a Chicago auction house by chance, each giving the viewer insight into 30 years of American city life as captured by one of the most enigmatic figures of twentieth century photography.

Music festivals are great, but beer festivals taste better. Brewchella is a dream event featuring local breweries, CRAFT menu favourites and live entertainment. No, this isn’t the place for flower crowns and Insta stories, but this will be the place for an amazing time.

Formed in 1998, this heavy metal group has since released 10 studio albums, two live albums, two compilations albums and three video albums in addition to their EP. They’ve worked with Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie and we’re featured in the game Guitar Hero World Tour (oh, the mems). They’ll be hitting up Mac Hall on March 7th.

Sip, sip, hooray! You’re in for a hell of a good time and a ton of really, really bad wine puns, because The Grape Escape Wine Festival is back at the BMO this March. It’s almost time to wine-down over a glass of red, white or bubbly! This time around, Grape Escape is featuring over 100 booths and vendors from all over the world, and nibbles and bites from eateries right here in Calgary.

Ready for the “ol’ razzle-dazzle?” We sure hope so, because Broadway’s second longest-running musical in history, Chicago, is coming to Calgary! Since first appearing on stage in 1975, it has become one of Broadway’s most successful musicals of all time. To snag a ticket you’ll want to act fast! Chicago will only play three performances over two days this March. In our opinion, that’s not nearly enough. But hey, we guess “that’s showbiz… kid.”

Fancy a little flamenco? Jesse Cook is an industry vet, releasing his first full-length album in 1995. This concert is going to get saucy. Grab a drink and settle in for a night of guitar riffs and foot tapping.
