12 Things To Do At Home And Around Calgary This Week (July 10 -17)

Welcome to another week, Calgary! How are we already halfway through July?! Man, time really flies when you’re high on mini-donut fumes, doesn’t it? Last week, we had more than our fill of midway food and home-peding, so the next few days, we’re going to take it slow, maybe grab a salad, detox, and then hit a few of these non-rodeo related events. Here are 12 things to do this week in Calgary!

VISIT THE NEWLY REOPENED TELUS SPARK! 

Welcome back, Telus Spark! These guys reopened to the public over the weekend, and now they’re inviting you to come down, get educated, and see what they’ve been up to since they closed in March. They’ve missed you!

SHOP AROUND AT THE HILLHURST MARKET

Shop around, get some fresh air, and support local by browsing the vendors at this season’s Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmer’s Market! For those who are ready to go out and resume everyday life, they’ve taken the necessary precautions to keep you all as safe as possible. They’ve even exclusively given the 60+ crowd their own hours!

CHECK OUT THE CALGARY ZOO’S BUGTOPIA PARK!

Leave the world of furry four-legged creatures and cross the bridge into Bugtopia, a larger than life playground where kids can learn more about our creepy crawly counterparts. Thanks to a generous donation made by the Brawn Family Foundation, tiny tots and even their parents can fill their noggins while they climb, swing, and slide through the Calgary Zoo’s brand new park.

APPRECIATE SOME LOCAL ART

The Esker Foundation has finally reopened! This Inglewood gallery is a great way to spend an hour or two one afternoon, and it’s totally FREE! Plus, they’ve extended the Katie Ohe exhibit until August!

VIRTUALLY WATCH SHAKESPEARE BY THE BOW

Enjoy Theatre Calgary’s 2020 rendition of Romeo and Juliet from the comfort of your own home! Shakspeare by the Bow is one of Calgary’s favourite summer park activities, but unfortunately, because of the virus, we won’t be able to hit Princes Island while we watch. Instead, tune in online!

SOLVE YOUR WAY OUR OF A VIRTUAL ESCAPE ROOM WITH FRIENDS
