Fans just set up a GoFundMe for a Tkachuk billboard in Edmonton

The Battle of Alberta is always pretty heavy, but Saturday’s game weighed a ton. In case you missed it, Zack Kassian of the Edmonton Oilers and Matthew Tkachuk of the Calgary Flames threw it the H-E-double-hockey-sticks down. But what goes down must come up, high above the streets of Edmonton on a billboard. Apparently, at least.

Let us explain.

In an effort to snap back at the rival team and also raise money for ALS in the process, Calgary Flames superfans (and internet trolls alike) have started a GoFundMe to get more than one Tkachuk billboard in Edmonton.

“We have decided that Edmonton deserves to see much more of Matthew Tkachuk,” the billboard fundraiser description states. We appreciate the banter, but mostly we appreciate that it’s raising money for a cause close to the Flames’ heart.

They’ve actually already surpassed their $2,500 goal, but if you’d like to see it for yourself or contribute, you can do so here!

Man, there’s really never a dull moment on the internet, is there?
