Ready to hit the slopes? We think we’ll sit this one out, because out butts are still bruised from last year. Hey, maybe we’ll grab a hot chocolate and read a book in the lodge? You should definitely get out there though! We know, we know, Christmas is expensive and so is access to the hill, so we figured we’d help a few of you out a little bit! It shouldn’t have to be a toss-up! Here are the best deals near Calgary to kick off this ski-season!


Whether you’re making a vacation out of it, or just going out for the day, Nakiska has a few amazing deals to kick off this ski/snowboard season. Save up to 25% on lift tickets when you book a three-night stay with them, book before December 20th and you’ll get 26% off a three-night stay. If you’re looking to just hit the slopes and then come back home, book 7 days in advance and you’ll save 20%.

Sunshine Village

Sunshines Super Pass is definitely worth it if you plan on spending the winter on the slopes. Ski or snowboard free on your first, fourth and seventh visit at Sunshine, Jaspers Marmot Basin, and Revelstoke Mountain Resort. You can also save $25 on regular adult passes when you ski midweek or $15 on weekends, be entered to win a snowboard, and get discounts at participating hotels and restaurants. The Super pass usually goes for $134, but it’s available right now for only $99. Not bad, hey?

If you’re coming from farther out of Calgary and hoping to stay for a few nights, they’re also offering a 5-night stay, unlimited ski pass, and four 2-hour lessons, plus a ton of activities for $1,197.

Mount Norquay Ski Resort

Ski season passes have a rep for being crazy expensive, so any discount is a good discount, right? Right now, you can get an Adult season pass to Norquay for $769 or only $379 with a valid student ID. All season passes also include additional discounts on food and drink at the resort, lessons, and tubing and rentals. If you’re looking to just head out for the day Adult one-day ski passes are regular $89.

Lake Louise

Similar to the Sunshine Superpass, The Lake Louise Plus Card will also give you a free ski on your first, fourth and seventh visit, 20% off of full-day lift tickets, discounts, a bonus day and applies five other Lake Louise affiliates. (Castle, Panorama, Schweitzer, RED Mountain, and SilverStar.) Until December 24th the Plus card is on sale for only $99. The perfect Christmas gift perhaps?

If your not the card-carrying type, or just want o spend a day on the hill (we don’t blame you, you’re sore AF afterward) Adult day passes are only $99 for 4-5 lifts or $125 for unlimited lifts.

Beginner? Winsport is a great place to start. It’s within city limits, it’s familiar, and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than the other hills. No shade. Adult full-day passes to COP are only $54.99, and season passes are on right now for $599.99. Season passes also include discounts on food, drink, rentals, and lessons.

If you’re hoping to ski or snowboard as a unit, family season passes are also on sale right now for $1,499.99, gotta teach em’ while they’re young!
