Howdy folks! Earlier today, Parks Canada announced that a bunch of national parks would be reopening on June 1st, and that includes the ones in Alberta! We’re chomping at the bit to get out and about, so here’s a quick rundown.

Basically, the parks will be partially reopening. That means things like trails and green areas are open, but visitor services and camping areas are still closed. Basically, only go out for the day and know where you’re going. Easy enough!

And now, all of the Alberta National Parks will be open to explore. Banff, Jasper, Elk Island and Waterton Lakes are all reopening on June 1st. Plus, we’re pretty sure that Wood Buffalo never actually fully closed(?). So, every park will be at least partially open!

As a final bonus, the Bar U Ranch Historic Site will also be reopening. Perfect for those who are a little more into culture and history than the great outdoors. Personally, we’re going to do a full tour.
