Calgary’s upcoming Glow Winter Light Festival has been postponed

Via Glow Downtown

Well, folks. It happened. The Glow Downtown Winter Light Festival, which was slated to run for 3 nights next month, will be postponed until 2022 – marking the very of what we hope – will not be many Calgary-based cancellations of this year.

“After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our festival partners and artists scheduled to appear, the Calgary Downtown Association determined that it would be best to suspend the planned activities for glow,” they said on their website.

This would have been the event’s fourth year running, but we totally understand. They want to do this right, and that just can’t’ be done without risking the health and safety of everyone involved.

“Making the decision to postpone to 2022 was difficult on so many levels. We had really hoped we could start the New Year on a much brighter note, but as time progressed it became clear that postponing is what needed to happen,” added Jennifer Rempel, Calgary Downtown Association, General Manager.

This is a hard pill to swallow friends, but we’ll be alright. Our fingers are crossed that it’s not, but if this year is anything like last, then it’ll fly right on by! 2022 will be here in a jiffy, and with it, lights, fun and actual face time with friends.
