Calgary’s mandatory mask bylaw will stay until at least mid-December
If you haven’t completely given yourself over to the idea of wearing a face covering for the better part of your day, don’t worry, you’ll have a ton of time to do so because the city has announced that the Calgary mandatory mask bylaw will remain in effect until mid-December, at least.
By now, we really hope that you guys have a comfortable, reusable, outfit-coordination friendly wardrobe of facemasks, but if you don’t, we suggest that you consider building one now!
According to a recently completed survey which was presented to the city council, there has been a significant increase in how many people who are comfortable wearing face masks in public, which we hope would be the case considering it’s mandatory.
In July, only 34% of people took face coverings seriously, but now we’re pushing 90%! Because of this, the city voted 11 t0 3 in favour of keeping the Calgary mandatory mask bylaw in effect as it has been proven to slow the transmission of COVID-19.
So, what do you guys think about this one, Calgary? Have you enjoyed not having to wear makeup on the bottom half of your face and not feeling obligated to smile at strangers? Or do you think it’s basically a crime against humanity? We want to know!
Either way, it’s going to be an interesting few months for all of us. Stay safe out there, folks!
