This year is certainly shaping up to be one where we realize just how important it is to support local. Whether you’re hitting up local markets, your favourite restaurant, or swinging by a local clothing store, putting in extra effort to keep small businesses afloat has become a big priority. That’s precisely why one Calgary man decided to create to make shopping for Alberta-made businesses even easier.

In a conversation with CTV News Edmonton, Made in Local Shops founder Ryan Corry noticed that “a lot of (Alberta) money was leaving the community,” and that sparked an idea. We have incredible businesses right here at home, so instead of doing all your online shopping on Amazon, why not do it in a marketplace that supports local?

Seems simple, doesn’t it? Well, sometimes the simplest ideas are the ones that make the biggest waves, and we think this could be one of those times.

The categories you can find on Made in Local Shops range from Apparel and Art all the way to Bath & Body, Food, and Hobbies. Really, it’s a one-stop-shop for all the Alberta goodies you could want to find!

Plus, when we shop local, we all win! The choice is an easy one, folks!
