Calgary Co-op has increased pay to thank employees amid COVID
There’s no way any of you have missed the saga that has been the city-wide grocery store apocalypse. Places like Co-op and their pharmacies have been insane but functional thanks to their incredible employees. These guys have been putting themselves at risk every single day since the outbreak and working double-time. All to ensure those shelves are stocked. To say thank you, the Calgary Co-op has launched a ‘Champions program!’
We stan employee appreciation! This program sees that every non-salary union, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and Home Health Care team members, will receive an additional $2.50 per hour. In addition to this, they’ll also receive discounts to shop and care for their families.

“On behalf of our entire Calgary Cooperative family of 3,850 team members, I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to our store staff; as well as our loyal members, for their ongoing support as we continue to work hard to address the pressing needs of our community.” Ken Keelor, CEO of Calgary Co-op said in an Instagram post.
The Co-op Champions Program will be retroactive until Saturday, May 2nd of this year, at which time the pay structure will be reassessed. Honestly, we hope it sticks. This entire situation has shown the dedication and hard work of these people, and they deserve it!
