We’ve all made the same mistake. We wait way too long to get a pumpkin to carve right before Halloween,  go to the closest grocery store, and then end up with a bruised and battered ‘hack-o’-lantern’. Getting a pumpkin should be an event, not an errand. This year, don’t make the same mistake. Here are 5 different pumpkin patches in and around Calgary that’ll breathe life back into the Halloween tradition.

CALGARY FARMYARD

The Calgary farmyard is fall. They know four things almost better than anyone on the list: Corn mazes, kettle corn, corn dogs, and pumpkins. Pick the perfect Jack o’ lantern, play some outdoor carnival games. Find your inner Tiger woods during a VERY serious round of glow in the dark mini golf and then bounce on over to the trampoline park.

KAYBEN FARMS

Kayben is another family-run farm. They put nature above all else and are very focused on the animals and the company that they keep. Also, they have a ton of super fun fall activities, outdoor games, a petting zoo, and to top it all off, 8 varieties of pumpkins you can buy!

Where: 316034 32 St E, Okotoks
When: Friday – Sundays in October from 10 am – 5 pm

Sounds like a lot more fun than picking your pumpkins from the same place you pick your toilet paper, hey? Fall is the season of Instagram and the frozen food aisle isn’t as cute. Sorry about it.
