Organization hopes to help businesses by encouraging YYC to “Eat Later”

In a position to help your fellow Calgarians affected by the COVID outbreak and want to, but just don’t know how? Eat Later! Restaurants are not designed to survive prolonged closures, like the one created by the pandemic. Through this new local organization, customers are being encouraged to help their favourite restos by pre-purchasing gift cards and merchandise, ultimately helping businesses remain open during this difficult time.

Coronavirus or not, the world continues to spin. Owners of YYC’s local bars, lounges and eateries, like the rest of us, still have bills to pay. Without their customers, the responsibility to cover their rent, taxes and payroll, are left solely on the shoulders of the owners.

By purchasing a gift card now, you’ll be helping these businesses pay for the things they need now, giving them a chance to come out of this on the other side, all while also pre-planning a celebratory “COVID is cancelled” date night. Win, win!

Eat Later has made it extremely convenient to help your favourite spots. They’ve actually created a website with all of these local businesses and their information in one place, so you can browse or even double up on your GC purchases, without any hassle!

The Calgary bar and restaurant scene is the soul of our city’s vibrancy. Man, we don’t know about you guys, but we can’t wait to be able to grab a drink again with some friends when this is all over.
