Good news, Calgary! WURST isn’t closing permanently after all

Via WURST Calgary Facebook

Well, looks like we jumped the gun and owe all you saddened fans of WURST a boot of beer! The 4th Street favourite isn’t permanently closed as we had reported earlier today.

In fact, they’re just playing a waiting game! In a phone call with the owner of WURST, it was revealed to Curiocity that the restaurant and bar are not closed up for good. Instead, they’ve been hanging tight to see when the Alberta government moves into the next phase of reopening.

This makes pretty good sense, as WURST is well known for having big crowds that party late into the night. Rather than opening up shop at 50% capacity and serve food and drinks to a select few, they’ve instead just temporarily closed up all operations.

So, when will WURST be back and will it be coming back in all of its former glory? Well, we don’t know that just yet. But we are keeping our fingers crossed we see some Oktoberfest shenanigans there in 2020.
