Just weeks after Home & Away announced it was shutting down its 17th Avenue location, Cilantro has made the decision that it will be closing its doors. In an announcement made through their social channels and website, the Cilantro team gave their thanks for the last few decades of support. Man oh man, it’s tough to see this one go. Here is what Larkin O’Connor, Business Development Manager of Cilantro had to say:

“It is with heavy hearts, together with a sense of optimism for the future, that we announce the closure of Cilantro. Over the last 30 years, we have welcomed countless guests through our doors, and we would like to thank our valued patrons, loyal regulars, dedicated staff and the community for supporting Cilantro over the years.”

Yowza, 30 years of service! Since 1986, Cilantro has held strong in the same 17th Avenue location. Food fans from around town always loved the Happy Hour, delightful patio, and unique menu, and who could blame them? After all, Cilantro always had top-notch offerings.

While the hospitality group behind Cilantro, Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts, takes time closing down this venture, they’ll still be running strong with their other assets. Those include The Lake House in Calgary, Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Deer Lodge in Lake Louise, and Emerald Lake Lodge in Field, BC. Not a bad list if you ask us.

Cilantro won’t be closing its doors until sometime later this summer, so head on over for a final drink and bite in the meantime. Sad cheers, everybody.
