October is the month of comfort food. We’re all our here trying to dress and prepare for some of the most unpredictable weather of the year. So, most of just just stay inside and eat our feelings. Here are 15 things you have to eat in Calgary this fall!
Hopefully, something on the list will help you forget we live in the seasonal twilight zone. Even if only for a minute.
Buttermilk is where we start on our tour de’ tasty. Topped with village icecream and warm Nutella over a mountain of seasonal fruit, this is the waffle to end all waffles. Fluffy. Sweet. Savory. Cold and warm. Ugh, It’s honestly to die for.

If this doesn’t get you out of bed before noon on a Sunday, nothing will. The Beltliner is Calgary’s modern diner and has some of the coolest items to choose from. But this one by far blows everything out of the water! A Caesar is basically liquored up tomato soup. But the Beltliner caesar is liquored up tomato soup, the grilled cheese that goes with it, and hell, the blanket you can cozy up with while you sip – if that’s what you want it to be. Go ham… or cheese, or whatever, It’s your glass, man.

You probably haven’t lived until you’ve had the pulled pork benny at Reds Diner. The BBQ sauce is sweet and smokey, and the hollandaise sauce is stupid creamy. We’d recommend going in early on the weekends because they run out of the pulled pork pretty quick. It’s like, Regina George-popular.

Endless noodles? Well, keep er’ coming. Jinya is a small space on 4th, but where they lack in square footage they make up for in portion size. Un-button up, kids. You’re going to need the gut space. When they say endless, they mean it. Eat until you burst.

Bonjour! This is another hidden gem. Yann is like little France. It smells like bread and macaroons, it’s inviting and honestly, a little overwhelming. These almond croissants are out of this world. Crispy and buttery on the outside and soft, moist and sweet on the inside. Thank us later!
