Without them, we may have lost our minds back in May, but they kept us grounded and responsible. This summer, to say thank you for the constant companionship and snuggles throughout quarantine, why not take your doggo out for a night on the town? Here are 11 of our favourite pet-friendly patios in Calgary!
DONNA MAC
Okay, so they’re a little bit strict here, but with good reason, we guess. While Donna Mac does have a pet-friendly patio, it’s important to note that they ask you only to bring your A+ Air Bud-behaving dogs to hang out in their space. Sorry, folks, you’ll have to leave Marley at home.

VIN ROOM
The Vin Room may have one of the most pet-friendly patios in all of Calgary. These guys have several locations across the city, each one with a paw-sitively accommodating policy. Some of their patios are super quaint but, what they lack in space they make up for in service. Puppies in their space are able to munch on complimentary treats and can relax on a custom-made dog bed. Does it get better than that?!

CAFFE BEANO
Surprisingly, Cafe Beano is not only for hipsters or skaters, but it’s also for the pups! Stroll down 17th and grab some incredible eats and a quality coffee, either on ice or piping hot. Sounds like a lovely way to relax with your best friend if you ask us.

BOOKERS BBQ & CRAB SHACK
So, so much meat! We’re not sure who’s going to love this place and their pet-friendly patio more, you or your dog. The folks at Bookers really, really love dogs guys. Their adoration has almost become a tad excessive, but in the best way! At least you know that there is no doubt they’ll be doing their absolute best to make a trip to their restaurant extremely comfortable for you and your pooch!

MARDA LOOP BREWING CO
In the area? Grab a drink at Marda Loop Brewing Co., and feel free to bring your fur-ever friend. These guys love your dog almost as much as you do, and are absolutely thrilled when you come through with a pooch. The space is comfortable, and clean – which is super important because dogs get into almost everything, and the beer is cold. Sounds like a great spot to us!

ONE NIGHT STAN’S
One Night Stan’s was actually the very first spot on 17th Ave to have a pet-friendly patio. Leash up your good boy, and find a spot along the sunny strip. The only thing that could possibly make their Mac and Cheese any better, is the company you keep, and your pooch might just be the best dining partner of all.

UNA PIZZA + WINE
Who isn’t willing to split a pizza pie with their best friend? Not far from One Night Stan’s, a glass of wine and their legendary ‘za await, at UNA. These guys have really embraced the puppy-patio thing. It’s not uncommon to walk by on 17th Ave and see more fluffy friends than people, and we love that.

THE BELTLINER

At the Beltliner, the most important meal of the day is even better with their pet-friendly patio. Stop by and have one of their signature caesars and a plate of bacon, then dog watch until your eyes hurt. A full stomach, full glass, and a full heart? Oh, and in case you didn’t know, they’ve added in quite the dinner menu with a whole new feel.

THE GUILD
The Guild is set and ready for you to roll through with your furry-friend. Grab a drink for you, an appie or two, and a bag of tasty treats for your pup. These folks really take pride in their pet-friendly patio and are more than happy to accommodate you and your pet. Ah, the service!

OL’ BEAUTIFUL BREWING CO.
Situated right next door to Cold Garden, Ol’ Beautiful has a fantastic layout for grabbing a beer with your best furry friend. The outdoor space sometimes has so many beautiful pups that it might as well be an on-leash park with beer. We can’t think of anything better.

Bonus: COLD GARDEN
Cold Garden is one of Calgary’s favourite pet-friendly joints. No, technically they don’t have a patio, but they do let pups inside their bar full time, year-round. Tell us that’s not worth mentioning! Grab a brew, and let your furry friend mingle, while you do the same. That’s a win, win if we’ve ever heard one.
