Spruce Meadows has cancelled all major summer events due to covid

Spruce Meadows is a summer hot spot for sightseers and horse enthusiasts, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until next year to enjoy the smell of the Gardencourt restaurant from a nice astroturf patch. The venue just announced the cancellation of their entire summer series to prevent the further spread of the COVID virus.

Every year since 1975, the summer series attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world, some of which remain in the city for the entire 6-week competition.

“The health and well-being of our sponsors and their employees, our competitors, officials, volunteers, fans, the media, Spruce Meadows’ staff and the community at large is of paramount importance to us, ” Spruce Meadows president and CEO Linda Southern-Heathcott said in a statement.

As we’ve said about all everything either postponed or cancelled, this is for the best, guys. We promise. There will be other events!
