Get in on an East Coast Party with the Calgary Roughnecks!
Want to forget about the -20 temps, even if just for a couple hours?? Your Calgary Roughnecks are back at the Saddledome this weekend, January 25th at 7:30 pm. For the first time ever, they’re hosting the Halifax Thunderbirds! To make their maritime challengers feel more at home while destroying them in the Rough House, there will be an East Coast Kitchen Party! It’ll feature special East Coast menu items for one night only and a chance to kiss the cod.
Kiss The Cod
The perfect conversation starter if you ask us. If you’re brave enough, head to section 214 and pucker up for a quick kiss and photo with a cod. Or, head up to the King Club in section 211 for your chance to get Screeched In (cod kissing included) and to enjoy tasty eats such as a donair flatbread, garlic fingers, chicken wings, and chippers!
To kick things off, the Dome’s insane happy hour specials are back at all concessions! Starting at 6:00 pm all the way up to the ball drop at 7:30, 14-ounce Budweiser & Bud Light draught, 1-ounce highballs, 6-ounce glasses of house wine, cheeseburgers, pizza slices, pop, and hot dog combos are just $5. There’s a special edition to this week’s lineup: Halifaxian favourite Keith’s is also being poured with happy hour pricing on Jan. 25th only until 7:30 pm!
East Coast Food
Things are heating up in the kitchen! Special east coast delicacies are being served throughout the entire game. Extremely poppable garlic fingers with house-made dough, garlic butter, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese served with donair sauce are sure to be a fan fave.
Hoping for some more handheld deliciousness? The east coast donair with Nova Scotia donair meat, pita, tomato, onion, lettuce, and sweet garlic sauce will be right up your alley.
It wouldn’t be an East Coast Kitchen Party without seafood! The Captain’s Platter, an ode to fish n’ chips with Halifax flair comes with beer-battered cod, breaded prawns, fries, coleslaw, and a lemon and remoulade sauce. Last but DEFINITELY not least, a true East Coaster delicacy, COD TONGUE. Yep, you read that right, codfish have tongues and they’ll be fried up alongside pork belly all night long.

The Nova Scotiables are back for another year performing live at halftime! We’re expecting to see your best moves so wear your dancing shoes and get ready to rock the Rough House!
