Is winter feeling a little stale? Getting a little tired of these snowy temps? Well hold your horses (literally), ’cause it’s time for the craziest winter event of the season. Calgs, saddle up for Skijordue 2019.
Skiing, cheese, neighs, and lots of laughs. What could be better? Well, guys, we’re pretty sure literally nothing is better than this. This event centres around skijor– AKA horse pulling a skier behind them to perform stunts/tricks/other zany stuff!!
These athletic geniuses will be rocking the very best in fur ‘n’ fringe. Competing in categories like Circuit, Relay, Sprint, Long Jump, and Lounge Race (literally racing couches), things are getting crazy out on the snow.
There’s $10,000 in prize money, but more importantly, there’s a looot of food. We’re talkin’ poutine, bratwurst sausages, and cheesy, legit fondue to complement your craft beer and cocktails.
There’s also a dance party, courtesy of DJ Stig, door prizes, a Best Après Ski Ensemble Contest, and a SkiTORG Makers Market. Basically, the only thing this festival doesn’t have is a man willing to do ANYTHING for Evian water. (Sorry, Andy. We had to.)
It’s all going down on February 16. We wouldn’t miss it for the world, would you Calgary? (No. No, you wouldn’t.)
