There could be one more Battle of Alberta before playoffs

Via NHL.com

Any time the Calgary Flames take on the Edmonton Oilers, you know it’s going to be fun. But imagine what a battle of Alberta might look like post-COVID-sports-drought. If you’re having a hard time really picturing what shade of mess the ice might be in this scenario, don’t fret. It looks like we’ll be seeing at least one more live YYC-YEG head to head in the 2020 hockey season.

This afternoon, Jason Gregor of TSN, announced that Calgary and Edmonton will square off in two weeks, for the first time since January in what we’re assuming will be a huge pre-playoff game.

After several months on hiatus, obviously, we’re pretty stoked just to watch a game that wasn’t played 20+ years ago. We’re even more eager, though – and we know most of you will agree with us– to see whether or not Matthew Tkachuk and Zack Kassian still want to flatten each other’s face.

It’s anyone’s guess! Right now, we can only be sure of a few things. First, teams will report to their respective hubs July 26th, second, the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers will face off July 28th, and finally, that this it’s going to be one hell of a game.

We’re ready, Alberta. Are you?
