The Calgary Folk Music Festival is from July 25th to 28th, and we’ll be celebrating 40 years of folk music! Break out your Birkens’ and slip on those sunnies- it’s festival season kid!

For Calgary Folk Fest’s 40th birthday, they’re celebrating with some bangin’ performances. Whether you’re watching on the ATB Mainstage, or the National stage, this year’s lineup is stacked with musical talent not to be missed. Revel in over 70 artists from around the world.
Experience musical styling from known artists and discover new movers and shakers ready to break ground. Some of our fave headliners for this year’s festival include Tune-Yards, Half Moon Run, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and The Strumbellas- just to name a few.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Folk Fest is a family friendly event so keep the curse words and any inappropriate-ness to a dull roar. Get a little artsy and bring your camera to capture the magical moments you’re about to experience. Just remember, no tripods permitted.
As much as we love dog-friendly activities, Calgary Folk Fest will only allow service animals on the grounds. And last, the most important thing, this is Folk Fest, people- live your best festival life and enjoy the sweet sounds of best in class music!
HISTORY OF FOLK FEST
Since its inception in 1980, the Calgary Folk Music Festival has set up shop on the iconic grounds of Prince’s Island Park. For 40 years, the Calgary Folk Music Festival has been Canada’s flagship in trailblazing music festivals with a national and international presence.
