Calaway Park is getting ready to cautiously reopen July 17th
Gravol, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes at the ready, Calgary! Thanks to a public-health order exemption made by Alberta Health Services, Calaway Park will be reopening to the public this month!
Technically, the amusement park should fall under stage 3 with other, similar businesses. However, according to the Calgary Sun, Calaway slipped through the cracks because most of the park is outdoors. Don’t worry though! These guys are being extra, extra cautious, and are under the watchful eye of the officials themselves.

These enhanced precautionary measures will include timed entry, a customer health questionnaire, and increased sanitization of rides and high touch areas. Although masks are not mandatory in most of their public areas, AHS has said they must be worn in tighter queue lines.
There will also be a few rides that will not be in service due to their “high-velocity nature” but these missed experiences will basically be comped when you purchase your ticket. Because adrenaline junkies will not get to climb aboard attractions like Vortex, Chaos, Ocean Motion, Adrenaline Test Zone, Wave Rider, and Free Fallin until stage 3, entry prices have been way reduced. That’s not half bad, right?
Calaway Park will kick off its 39th year of fun, by opening first to seasons pass holders on July 17th, and then to the general public on July 18th! Further details, like admission pricing, are expected to be released on their website on July 13th, so we’ll keep you guys updated! Until then, stay safe, and prepare yourselves, Calgary!
When: Friday, July 17th
