Big Brother Canada is officially shutting down its season 8 operations due to concerns surround coronavirus. This is an interesting end to a very interesting season of the reality competition show.

Houseguests have been ejected, one guest self-evicted, and now the entire show is wrapped. Although the ending may seem unspectacular, it’s a necessary move in order to keep everyone involved with the show safe.

Also, Ontario’s recent non-essential business shutdown made the decision even easier for producers.

Here is an excerpt from Big Brother Canada’s press release on shutting down production:

“Big Brother Canada is a labour of love for so many, and even though it hurts to say goodbye to the season, it’s the right thing to do,” said Big Brother Canada host Arisa Cox. “On behalf of the incredible people who put this show together, thank you to everyone who started this journey with us. Please take care and be safe!”

After all, there is enough pre-filmed stuff out there for everyone to watch for years. Heck, you can go ahead and stream other seasons of Big Brother Canada if need be!
