The rooftop of Simmons was named one of Calgary’s best rooftops of 2018, so it was bound to make our list. Enjoy views of the Bow River and city skyline while sharing plates from a Mexican taqueria-inspired menu. They’ve also got umbrellas for when the sun is fierce and heaters for when it gets a little nippy. Good company, good food, and fiesta vibes, will have you forgetting about the bustling city outside.
An extension of One18 Empire, the in house restaurant at the Calgary Marriott Downtown, this pop-up is one that you’ll want to hit up with friends! This second-floor patio overlooks Stephen Ave with views of the Calgary Tower. It has a casual vibe, with couches, a games area, and umbrellas for the extra sunny days. River Café’s patio is an enchanting experience that we’re sure will win your heart. Enjoy award winning Canadian cuisine while nestled in the lush trees of Prince’s Island Park. Their patio, which is an old-fashioned veranda around the building, backs onto Fish Creek Provincial Park making you feel like you’re in a really nice and realllly big backyard. If people watching is your thing, Murrieta’s is your place. On the second floor of the century-old Alberta Hotel building, you’ll have a bird’s eye view of Stephen Ave. Come with friends and share a House Charcuterie board and a bottle of vino and you’ll forget to look at your phone.
You don’t have to golf to come to The Lookout at Lynx Ridge golf course. Overlooking the driving range, golf course, Bow Valley, and the Rocky Mountains, this patio has one of the best views in town. Outfitted with a fireplace and two large screens, it’s the perfect place to kick back and relax. Add an order of their famous ginger beef and a beer or wine from their extensive list, and you’re set.
