Rental of the Week: Industrial design & rainbow colours
Do you know when people let their kids dress themselves for the first time? Without a photo of this Calgary rental of the week, that’s probably how we’d describe the decor. This massive estate is like the mix and match bin of a designer consignment store. That’s not to say it isn’t cool. It’s just different.
With the bright colors and unconventional design elements, this home certainly boasts character but might be too odd for some to handle. Regardless, let’s see what the Curiocity Calgary rental of the week has to offer.
CALGARY RENTAL OF THE WEEK
The exterior of the home looks like if a planetarium went streaking during the top of the eighth at a Jays game. It’s pretty naked. Totally nude.
Looking at the outside, you would never guess that after walking through the front doors you’ll get hit with the entire Care Bear’s cast worth of colors and shapes.
The opera house-sized living room has plenty of space to breathe freely. There’s a sense of serenity in how open it all is but the emptiness is somehow still inviting.
They say the more the merrier! Why have one window when you can have like, twenty. Yeah, it’ll be your own kind of hell trying to dust those bad boys, but that natural light is just gorgeous, darling.
The real star of the room is a grand floor to ceiling fireplace. Legend has it, that when the fire burns out on a cold night, you can hear the robotic melody of “if I only had a heart” echo through the halls. Did we just make that up? Guess you’ll have to visit the spot to find out.
The kitchen is too colourful for our personal taste, but to each their own. This baby is fully equipped with professional stainless steel appliances. And has a ton of room to host and entertain.
The master bedroom on the upper level of the house has garden views, a two-sided fireplace that faces inwards, and a massive walk-in closet. Also, all bedrooms have luxurious ensuites.
The home also has a second family room with an attached games space and a wet bar with floor to ceiling windows. Additionally, this rental has a secret room under the stairs that you can either use as storage or a seventh bedroom for your wizard nephew.
You’re SOL if you have a cat. But dog owners can call this super fun six-bedroom, five-bathroom, 5392 square feet conceptual project home for a cool $4800.00 a month.
