There’s a magical skating rink hidden on a downtown Calgary rooftop & here’s how you can check it out

The air may be frigid and the snow might be deep, but there’s really nothing like Alberta’s frosty fresh air – especially if you’re breathing it in someone special! This winter, enjoy the snow, wind, good company and a stunning view at the Marriott Calgary rooftop skating rink, an enchanting date night destination or holiday hang-out with friends and family.

High above the city streets, guests are now able to enjoy a two-hour glide on their icy rooftop terrace – but there are a few things to note!

Due to the size of the rink, The Marriott has not opened it up to the general public – however, there are two other ways to access it.

The first is by checking into the hotel and the second is by purchasing a “date and skate” package from ONE 18 EMPIRE.

Available on OpenTable, each package costs $50 and includes a gift card to the restaurant and will gain you access to the hotel’s most romantic amenity.

In addition, they do not have rentals on-site and you’ll have to bring your own skates, so come prepared! There’s really nothing else like it in the city.

It won’t be long until it’s flip-flop weather again so make the most of what we’ve got! Enjoy!
