Calgary is hosting a wild 12-hour Halloween movie marathon at this downtown theatre

Well, shotgun a Red Bull and tape those eyes wide open, the Calgary Underground Film Festival just announced their 2020 12-hour Halloween movie marathon and as expected, it’ll be totally worth checking out.

There’s really nothing more terrifying than falling asleep in a theatre full of strangers, which is exactly why we advise you guys to prepare yourselves.

This half-day celebration of horror, insomnia, and popcorn will kick-off at 7 pm on October 31st with Wes Cravens Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors – because who cares about the first two, right?

After a good ol’ stretch of the legs, settle back in for Blood and Black Lace and The Bride of Chucky then check out the costume contest at midnight.

After the winner is announced, the theatre will show Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II, Society and Blood Rage, before serving breakfast (for free!) at 5 am. Finally, if you’re still alert, the marathon will wrap with 1982’s Basket Case. With that, guests will be sent stumbling back into the streets around 7 am.

Costumes are encouraged (obviously, if there’s a contest), the bar will be open until 2 am, and there will be a ton of surprises and giveaways during the entire evening, so you won’t want to miss it!

Start napping now, Calgary. It’s going to be a long night.
