A lot is happening in The Culture + Entertainment District! There are a ton of events, attractions, culinary offerings, shopping experiences and more to enjoy. And then there are a ton of major city-building projects (worth over $600M) and the Green Line LRT project underway.
While all of the fun events and amazing developments are really exciting, there are a few roadblocks. And we mean that literally!
Starting this week, pedestrian and traffic detours will be installed in the district to facilitate the construction. The C+E has developed an interactive access map to make it easy to navigate to, and through, the neighbourhood.
The map will give you real-time updates on construction and detours. Meaning you don’t have to waste time finding your way to the many events and attractions at the BMO Centre, the Scotiabank Saddledome, GMC Stadium and other venues.
Talking about the ongoing construction, Calgary Municipal Land Corporation President and CEO Kate Thompson said, “We’re thrilled that so many major city-building projects are underway in Calgary’s emerging Culture + Entertainment District (The C+E). We know that construction of this nature can be disruptive and that navigating the resulting traffic and pedestrian detours is inconvenient but we are confident that The C+E will be an exceptional destination for Calgarians and tourists alike when complete.”
