There’s a brand new busker festival in Seattle & it’s on for one day only

As we approach June, we are nearing festival season in Seattle. And we will be getting a brand new one this year. Buskarama is taking place at Pike Place Market for one day only, and here’s what to know about the new festival.

The brand new busker festival “honors the amazing performing artists of the past, present, and future at Pike Place Market.”

According to organizers, “for decades performers of all kinds have transformed street corners into stages, and have inspired millions of visitors from all over the world with their charisma and creativity.”

Taking place on Saturday, June 15th, from 10 AM to 5 PM, you will be able to check out dozens of licensed buskers perform at 15 designated locations.

These spots marked by red music notes are iconic, like The Cave, under The Clock, and in front of Starbucks.

Organizers state that there will be more hidden locations to explore on Western Ave and Post Alley.

Following the daytime performances, from 7:30 PM to midnight, Buskarama will have a showcase at The Rabbit Box to celebrate the 50 years since Jim Page helped change the laws for street performers in Seattle.

“He will be joined by his longtime collaborator and friend Artis Spoonman, along with an array of troubadours that reflect the diversity and promise of our unique and storied busking community,” states the event. This portion will be ticketed, with those being released soon.

So get ready, and add another festival to your spring calendar!
